Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
I attended an insight day as part of the firm's recruitment process. There were three team spotlight sessions, lunch with trainees and a Q&A session at the end.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was an interesting day, and the sessions were very useful for learning more about the role of a trainee in various teams and what day-to-day life at the firm is like.

Everyone was very approachable and friendly throughout the insight day. I felt comfortable asking questions and being myself around others, particularly trainees.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed the insight day with the firm. I came away knowing that I would genuinely enjoy working at the firm and would get on well with the people in the Cambridge office. Despite not receiving a final offer, I remain motivated to engage with the firm and put myself forward for future opportunities.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Irwin Mitchell
Be specific and genuine as to why you are interested in the firm. When researching the firm, go beyond their website and engage with as many people as you can, for example, at Legal Cheek law careers fairs and the various webinar sessions that the firm holds for people interested in applying. This allows you to understand what the culture is actually like and find out more about the particular stream and office you are applying for. Be prepared for interviews, but do not be too rigid with your answers.
