Bespoke Electrical Engineering Review

I work in the bespoke engineering department developing the electrical side of bespoke features for one-offs and collections for clients. I mainly worked on headliners and illuminated components within the car's interior.

There was no limit to the amount of responsibility available to me as an intern in my experience, it's more about how capable and proactive you are that you'll get handed the appropriate responsibility and trust to deliver projects and certain tasks.

I've learnt a lot of new engineering skills, especially soft skills such as working in teams, managing time schedules and working in conjunction with complex timelines and deliverables.

I received a lot of support and guidance during my internship. Everyone is really keen to help you out and explain concepts/processes instead of doing it for you which I learnt to greatly appreciate. However, I did miss specific training for my role. It's more of a ask the right person for the right thing that finding documents or tutorials on how to carry out a process.

Company culture and general atmosphere is incredibly positive and uplifting, could not have asked for more.

I've greatly enjoyed my placement both professionally and personally. It has taught me countless concepts and skills, both engineering and interpersonal skills which I will be able to apply in the future to other sides of my engineering career.
