I received a lot of support from my team; I had weekly one-to-ones with my manager, as well as regular check ins with the other placement students and mentors.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company is really friendly and everyone is really approachable. I was able to talk to a wide range of people within the business and learn about their roles and how they got to Volkswagen.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed being part of a big company and I think it is the perfect company to learn about the workplace in as they are so used to having placement students. There are so many opportunities to learn new things, travel and meet new people.

What advice would you give to others applying to Volkswagen Group UK

You don't have to know anything about cars - or even have an interest in the motor industry. There are so many different roles, some of which you wouldn't expect. When applying, I would say make sure you research the company values and just be yourself! Volkswagen are looking for interesting and genuine people.
