Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I was coding in a team of 4 interns. We joined the wider team for meetings and was helped in 1 to 1 sessions by members of the wider team. I also attended many intern events and socials.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Thr team of interns I was in were quite independent and were given the responsibility for organising ourselves day to day. We had the responsibility for our project which enabled us to decide in which direction we went in with it.

I developed my coding and presentation skills. I was able to code in a range of languages and was encouraged to learn new skills as well as demonstrate the skills I already have.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received lots of support and the intern leaders were always available for further support. My manager was helpful and often asked what other support I needed. There were also lots of resources available to get help from.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

I really liked the company culture. It was very supportive and friendly and remote working was available. Small things like free snacks helped to make me feel welcome everyday. Furthermore the company promotes healthy lifestyle and the importance of looking after our mental health.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed this internship and am glad I did it. I would recommend it to anyone. The work life balance was good and the opportunities were excellent.
