Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Lots of data analysis for things around our specific office as well as other sites across the country, helping and learning to manage a contract with our third-party supplier and ensuring that KPIs are kept to and reached on a regular basis. Also being in charge of running and assisting in office events and making the workplace a better environment for people.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have learnt Power BI and gone from never having used it before to being quite confident with making more complex dashboards. My Excel use has improved, more confident using formulas and more efficient at basic tasks on here. I have also been on a lot of training courses and improved my skills dealing with people.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I always felt that I could ask my manager for support on work given, but it would have been good to have more one-to-one calls on progress and where I could improve each month etc.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture is very supportive with a lot of groups for different people to join, and the office I work at everyone is really nice and supportive. They emphasise teamwork a lot so you won't be left alone for anything.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I enjoyed it a lot, I think I have learnt a lot of key skills that are transferrable to different jobs! It's been very interesting working in the corporate structure for a year and seeing how the office runs.
