Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

As a Placement Student – Purchasing Co‑Ordinator, you support the procurement function by assisting with the end‑to‑end purchasing process to ensure materials and services are sourced efficiently, on time, and in line with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Raising Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) using Ariba and ensuring accuracy of pricing, quantities, and delivery details
Liaising with suppliers to obtain quotations, pro‑forma invoices, and confirm payment terms (e.g. Net 30, advance payments)
Supporting supplier onboarding, including handling and editing PDF forms and maintaining accurate supplier records
Tracking orders, deliveries, and invoices, and following up on delays or discrepancies
Coordinating internally with finance, logistics, and operational teams to resolve purchasing or payment issues
Maintaining procurement documentation and trackers (e.g. GSAR or order trackers)
Supporting compliance with internal procurement policies and audit requirements
Assisting with general purchasing administration and ad‑hoc procurement tasks
