I do engineering of Nuclear Submarines

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It is an excellent opportunity and i enjoy what i do on a day to day basis and i enjoy where the scheme leads to.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I learnt many new skills throughout the apprenticeship and i leant so much in this area of expertise and now am much more knowledgeable than when i started

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is set 1 year at college then 2 years of placement, rotating through different teams at different parts of the business at different base locations around the country every 6 months.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5

You have a start, mid and end placement review with your manager within every 6 month placements. You also have your monthly cohort meeting. In all these your employer has personal contact with you where they can update you and you can ask questions and address any concerns.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

You have regular calls every month where you go through your work and how you are doing including your well being and what you are doing out of work.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I had no prior engineering experience to starting this apprenticeship so i feel that the learning has helped a lot and opened a whole new world of thought process and thinking which helps me throughout my placements.
