Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is chartered management degree apprecentice this is a rotational scheme in which the apprentice rotates across 3 roles across the 3 years. The roles sit within 3 sections 1 customer, 1 transformation and 1 commercial. This allows a well rounded knowledge of the business and a wide range of skills to be built. One day a week the role involves university working towards a business degree and chartered management status.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The programme is well organised, supportive and allows apprentices to thrive. It’s great for someone who does not have an end career goal decided as you have the ability to rotate and try different roles. This has massively helped me narrow down the direction I want my career to go in.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

There is a drive for new skills to be developed with regular progress reviews with university coaches to check development. Also the work culture in BT employees want apprentices to thrive and offer them all opportunities they can to foward their development.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well organised with a clear understand of the structure of the programme outlined from day 1.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive high support from my employers who want the best for me. With regular meeting to understand my goals to help me meet them.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider is very supportive providing each apprentice with a study coach for any queries or concerns.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have developed an academic understanding which can then be applied to my role. Furthermore, I have be pushed to develop multiple new skills that massively contribute towards my day-to-day role.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is an early careers network that regularly hold socials to bring all apprentices and graduates together.
