Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
In my current rotation as a Business Analyst Apprentice I am the bridge between tech and business needs. I speak to stakeholders to gather requirements of a business problem. I also work on process mapping, mapping out processes for various different products.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I am really satisfied with my programme, BT goes above and beyond for their apprentices and gives you access to so many different opportunities. I am only in my first year at BT but I already feel apart of the team and I am excited to begin my journey with them as I learn and develop.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
I have learned a wide variety of skills since starting my apprenticeship. I have learned key skills required to become a Business Analyst such as stakeholder management and process design skills. I have learned how to use AI effectively (how to prompt AI and use AI agents). My communication has drastically improved since starting, I now fell confident chairing meetings with stakeholders and agreeing next steps.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
My programme is structured very well, I have the opportunity to do 3 rotations in different areas of the business. This gives me exposure to 3 different areas, I will be able to use the skills and knowledge I gain in each rotation to help me excel in the next one. I am allocated more than enough time each week to focus on my university studies and I am given various opportunities at work to learn through training pathways and shadowing experienced colleagues.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
My employer goes above and beyond for apprentices, we have various different networks for apprentices and graduates where we can connect with one another. I am allocated time each week to commit to my University studies. My manager in particular goes above and beyond for me, they always check in on me and ask if I need support. BT is an amazing place to work and I could not recommend it enough!

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

4/5
My training provider provides weekly updates around assignments and we have frequent webinars where we can ask questions and gain clarity.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

4/5
I believe the qualification I am getting from my training provider is massively helping me perform better in my role. My communication has drastically improved because of my training provider which has helped me in my job role as communication is a vital skill for my role.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
I have been able to go to numerous networking events since starting. We have monthly social activities for graduates and apprentices where we can catch up and connect with each other. One professional event I went to this week gave me the opportunity to speak on stage to 3 schools, this has massively improved my confidence with public speaking and gave me the opportunity to promote BT and introduce these schools to vital work that BT do.
