Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
On a day to day basis at work, I receive, draw out and issue grating jobs. With some jobs, I can send them to the client for fabrication and review then issue them straight away, with others I have to send them to the client for approval and wait for their response.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I really enjoy my apprenticeship programme as it was something that was completely new to me when I first started however I am enjoying learning new skills and entering a new sector of work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
As this is a new job role to me, most of the sills that I now use on a day to day basis are ones that I have picked up whilst being at Lionweld.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
The programme is structured well over the four years as it gives me time to learn everything that there is to know abut my job role and to also to complete my college course.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
At work, there are often apprentice meetings in which all the current apprentices meet and discuss how their programmes are going.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
My assessor regularly visits my workplace for reviews and to see how I am getting on with work and working towards my qualifications. My college teachers also provide support if it is wanted.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

3/5
The units that I have completed in my college course so far are not really related to my role as a draughtsperson however they are relevant to the wider sector and the units that I have yet to complete may resonate to my role more and help me to preform better.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

4/5
The drawing office has been out as a group twice since I joined.
