Day to day duties consist of regular administrative work, investigation of customer complaints, checks of raw materials, operators and finished products and work on internal business improvement projects.

My job has provided me with technical knowledge of Lionweld's products, insight into industry practices, introduction to the office environment, development of communication skills and understanding of Quality Assurance practices and processes.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is vey clearly structured. I was provided with an internal training programme to familiarise me with the business, as well as being enrolled in an external Level 4 Quality Practitioner apprenticeship programme.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have received excellent support from my manager, Lionweld's Training Developer and my colleagues throughout my time at Lionweld.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive considerable support from my training provider that has greatly benefited me in working towards my qualifications.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

To a great degree, the skills and practices introduced by my training provider have been applicable in many of my daily duties.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Lionweld has offered a myriad of company social occasions and team-building events. These are primarily organised by the company's Charity Committee, of which I am a part. I have also participated in a number of networking events as a result of Lionweld's place within the Teesside business community.
