Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
I make treads by welding all the pieces together. I make sure I'm not sending out bad quality work by checking it before I stack it up.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

4/5
I enjoy my work and I feel like since I started, I have learnt a lot.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
I didn't know anything about welding before I came here and I hadn't had any experience of a factory setting so my apprenticeship has really helped me gain lots of skills and experience. Now I know what I'm doing with my work, I don't feel like I have to go and ask for help all the time. Doing an apprenticeship through the college has also let me improve my English and maths.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
I feel like my apprenticeship is going quite well. When I start work, things are prepared for me to do my job which makes it faster. I get good communication from college and my employer.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I get a lot of support from everyone. For example, people will come to my bench to help me out even if I don't work with them. My mentor has been there from the start. She has seen me go from being not able to weld to now being able to keep up with her speed. I feel like I can talk to her and she understands.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
I get good support with English and maths and my coursework and I now feel more confident.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

4/5
I have learnt good welding skills in college but think it is very different to an actual working environment.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
The options are there for me to go I just choose not to.
