Within my role as a Digital Marketing Apprentice at Softcat, I have gained exposure to various aspects of digital marketing. My primary responsibilities include planning and implementing marketing campaigns, developing website content, filming and editing video content, managing inbound leads generated through website forms, and raising virtual credit cards to fund marketing activities.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as an apprentice at Softcat so far. The programme has allowed me to gain hands on experience across various projects, learn new skills and develop existing ones, while completing my studies with my training provider.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned many new skills, including uploading website content using a CMS (content management system), launching email campaigns, paid social campaigns, and developing my data analysis and reporting skills. I have also improved my soft skills, such as communication, problem solving and time management, particularly through balancing my apprenticeship work alongside my day-to-day responsibilities.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Softcat?
If you’re considering applying for the apprenticeship scheme, my advice is to 100% go for it! During the interview stage, the best thing you can do is bring your true, authentic self. From my experience, the whole application process was very supportive. Softcat aren’t looking for perfection, they just want to see your character and understand your motivations for the role you are applying for.
