I work with qualified Electricians ranging from 1st fix to 2nd fix in New builds and town houses.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Very supportive, they want you to succeed and progress continuously. Genuinely the best company I have worked for.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I started this with no knowledge in the electrical field much less working on site. So now I’m very competent and can confidently do 1st and 2nd fix

We have monthly reviews regarding our progress and our lovely Apprentice Manager always comes to site to check in on us.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

More support than a standard employer would give. They support you even in your personal life and always make sure you’re doing well.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Any issues with college our apprentice manager has had meetings with the college and if the college isn’t up to scratch she’ll start looking at alternatives immediately based on the fact the issue can’t be resolved.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Genuinely you learn the theory side of things at college but everything hands on you’ll learn with Watkins bringing the theory side to life and also giving you a better understanding.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I’ve personally had the opportunity to go to a few apprenticeship events, we also have annual apprenticeship event where all the apprentices get together for a meeting regarding the previous and new year to come we have also have a meal and games.
