Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
I split my time between 3 different services areas: business management, facilities management and legal teams which all required different levels of support at different times, therefore my workload and the weightings on which i would use my time would vary on a week by week basis. Generally i'd work on purchase orders, leave carry forward requests and inbox monitoring supporting the Directors and Chief Executive's PA's in their roles and providing support where possible. In facilities management, i would be the first port of call to contractors and provide support to all of buildings across the city to ensure they were well maintained where possible. In Legal, i would be responsible for the sealing of legal documents and preparing court bundles.
I was then 3 months into my apprenticeship when i was seconded to work at the Crematorium which falls within the bereavement services sector within the Council during a time of operational difficulty. I provided administrative support in the way of responding to emails in their joint inbox and answering telephone calls - i also worked on data inputting into the Plotbox system.
I worked in the Crematorium full time for 5 months and then split my time again with the Business Management and Legal team alongside this. I then was asked to work down at the Managed Workspaces during a time of operational difficulty when the heating stopped working - I spent 3 months down here prior to getting the full time job i have now in the Managed Workspaces where I support small businesses within the building. I have since become involved in the administrative side to the Cornhill Market and Visit Lincoln which require different knowledge and skills, but also the skill to prioritise and allocate time effectively to the different departments where time is most needed, which I believe coming in as an apprentice working over a multitude of teams has really supported me with.
