Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I was an apprentice for the Licensing Department from 2023 to 2024. My role included face to face appointments, answering calls, producing licences, maintaining spreadsheets and databases, attending meetings and checking over documents.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoyed my time as an apprentice, it was my first ever job. My placement gave me a great introduction into the working lifestyle and i had amazing help from the work base learning team.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I developed multiple skills during my apprenticeship. This includes IT Skills (like learning how to use excel), record and document production, decision making, interpersonal skills, communication skills, personal quality, planning and organisation, and project management. This has really helped as an employee by giving me skills i now use for my permanent admin role.

The programme was extremely well structure, i was able to submit all my qualification work on time.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I received unconditional support from the work based learning team. I was given all the assistance i needed, all members of staff went above and beyond.

I would not be in my job role now if it wasn't for my qualification, it has given me confidence.

Why?
The apprenticeship offers great first steps into the working lifestyle (especially straight from secondary school like myself). You receive a huge amount of support and you a guided throughout the programme.
