Managing multiple urgent care services across North, East and West Lancashire. Day to day operational functionality, staffing, competencies and ensuring meeting targets, KPI's etc
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Time management is essential. The pressure is good though.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes. At the beginning i didn't think there would be any change in myself after working in healthcare management since 2005 however i have felt the shift now i am within the 2nd year. I feel i approach work from a different angle now and consider teams and services i would not have previously. all in all, positive changes.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

very well structured and organised by the college. I feel the hours needed during working weeks for study etc arent maybe fully understood by the employer before signing staff upto the programme as it is imperative those hours are utilsed. I have managed well, its just feedback and i have provided this to the company as food for thought for future apprentices.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

ample support from the training team however its difficult to have reviews with line managers and college representatives discussing development etc when the line managers maybe aren't fully aware of the contents of the apprenticeship / course.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

if i was to approach them with an issue, im sure they'd address it and help me resolve.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

none within morecambe area. Would look at developing however there seems to be no appetite.

good teams and workforce. Direction is clear.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to FCMS?
Read up on the company - it is not NHS and has its own drivers, targets and the KPI's differ dependant on the service ICB. Wellbeing is a focus as well as staff engagement.
