Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role consisrs of me working with customers on projects and working with technical consultants to help manage our projects by tracking our time, budget and resources. I have the opportunity to help other project managers and sometimes have to travel to other offices for workshops etc. I have to manage requests for project coordinators/managers to be aligned on a daily and help scope projects too.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I believe it's the best route I've gone down. I found it much more insightful than college and it's opened up doors and opportunities I would've never thought I've seen at my age. This apprenticeship truly is the best decision I've gone down

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've been able to confidently send out emails to customers using the correct format and can confidently communicate with other stakeholders internally and externally relating to my role. I've also gained an understanding of the different project management methodologies too. I know how to scope projects and determine how much time a project manager will be needed on a project.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is perfectly structured as it's 80% working and 20% off the job training for my apprenticeship course meaning I'm only required to do 6 hours of off the job learning which is the perfect amount to stay on track and perform in my role

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I recieve support everyday with teams being able to help and advise me on managing my time, giving me ideas for my apprenticeship and understanding that I'm only an apprentice and is expected to make mistakes in my role meaning despite any slip ups as long as I'm giving it my full effort then I'll have the support all the time

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I would say you get loads of support with other people in the company who work closely with you provide you with ideas for your assignments before submitting them and they give you the opportunity to take a whole day off work to focus on your apprenticeship work which is what apprentices are contracted to.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that I will do very well in my apprenticeship as my company has a 98% distinction rate in my apprenticehip course.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are networking groups inside the company. I'm in the muslim network group for example and there are also football groups in every office that you can participate in every Friday.
