Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role consists of taking calls from patients. Assessing symptoms and signposting to appropriate care using NHS pathways. My role is to ensure patients are assessed accurately to ensure patient safety.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The apprenticeship program was fantastic. It enabled me to achieve a qualification while being in a work setting. This hands on approach allowed me to build confidence in my abilities when it came to study.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have definitely developed existing skills but has also enabled me to apply for other job roles within the company.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The program was well organised with access to the tutor and mentors for any questions that needed to be asked. The tutor responded promptly and was always happy to to help.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer was very supportive, making provisions for anything to do with the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider was very supportive and was accessible at all times.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification has given me confidence within my role and has also given me a better understanding of my role. I have also been appointed as an auditor since completing my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes Fcms has numerous extra curricular activities and are very inclusive in any events.

Fcms is an amazing company to work for. We are a community and as an employer they are very supportive and really want everyone to do well . I feel nurtured, supported and valued.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to FCMS?
Be yourself, don’t be afraid to ask questions and most importantly when opportunities arise don’t be afraid to put yourself out there as there is a lot of support
