Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role as a Human Resources apprentice involves moving around different areas of Human Resources on 4 month placements each time. These include areas like recruitment, reward, diversity & inclusion, Employee Relations, Change, Future skills etc. I work a 4 day week as 1 day is given to us for our study day to study towards our CIPD level 5 qualification. I am required in the office 50% of the time so 2 days a week in the office. My role day to day therefore depends on what placement I am in- currently I am in the early careers recruitment team. I have been involved in reviewing assessment centre candidate feedback and implementing changes, working and helping out at assessment centres and career fairs, working behind the scenes with data on demand and offers and much more.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy my programme, I get a good balance of study and work. I am supported well in my programme through managers, buddy's, mentors and everyone at the company is so lovely.

4/5
My communication skills have improved, my confidence has improved, my presentation skills have improved and developed, my excel skills have developed and much more

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well organised and structured. Get a day off to study every week which is really helpful. It is organised well, as each placement is always prepared for apprentices to come in and are really valued and looked after. We get given a choice of options for each placement and get to put a top 3 each time and mostly get given our top choice.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots of support- i have a sponsor, a placement manager, a buddy and a mentor.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Training provider is supportive and keen to help with lots of resources and guidance. Sometimes they can just give too much work that doesn't always seem manageable and sometimes the teaching isnt very clear in regards to our assessment.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes lots
