Overseeing quality assurance and improvement for a range of adult education and 16-19 programmes.
Manage a team of managers responsible for quality assurance, contract management, IAG and learner support.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It reinforces key knowledge, skills and behaviours required for my role at Level 7. The assignments link fully to my day to day work, it has been straightforward to find required evidence and the apprenticeship provider provides the appropriate level of support and guidance.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well organised. We use OneFile to access reviews, feedback and course materials. Online taught sessions are well structured and appropriately timed.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

The apprenticeships team at West Sussex County Council are always available to give support and guidance. We have Teams chats specifically for my cohort and my line manager recognises the time needed to complete my off the job and his responsibilities for guiding me as my mentor.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My trainer ensures I have regular reviews, I can submit requests via OneFile and there are guest speakers and enrichment opportunities offered through their Be The Change programme.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It gives me the tools and structures needed to perform at my level.

WSCC offers flexible working and ample opportunities for career development. I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to complete my Level 7 senior leadership apprenticeship and to be on a programme aimed at women.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to West Sussex County Council?

Be open and honest about your individual needs. WSCC is very accommodating and will work with you to understand your needs and any required reasonable adjustments.
