Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
Day-to-day, I split my time between the office and site. In the office, I help with technical drawings, basic calculations, and project documentation. On-site, I assist with inspections, observe installations, and make sure work is meeting design specifications and safety standards.
I also learn from experienced engineers, develop my technical skills, and work with different teams to help deliver efficient and safe building systems.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I’ve also strengthened practical skills like problem-solving and attention to detail, especially when observing work on-site. In addition, I’ve developed my communication skills by working with different teams and stakeholders, and my time management by balancing multiple tasks and deadlines.
Overall, I’ve become more confident in applying what I’ve learned in real-world situations while continuing to build my technical knowledge.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
How much support do you receive from your employer?
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
Recommendations & Advice

Why?
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAM?
It’s also important to highlight any practical experience or transferable skills you have, such as teamwork, problem-solving, or hands-on work, as these are really valued.
Finally, be prepared to learn and show a positive attitude. BAM looks for people who are willing to develop, take on feedback, and contribute to the team, not just those with technical knowledge.
