Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Work using AI to develop code to fix software problems and automate manual processes. Nature of the work itself can vary depending on what your team does and what work there is needed to do. Cloud heavy teams and the use of: Java, Python and Copilot is very popular across tech.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Good salary, choice of work is decent, people are typically friendly and nice, good benefits, good location, nice office and good opportunity for apprenticeship progression. Sometimes things can take really long due to internal processes.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Software Engineering as a whole: Python, SQL, Continuous Integration & Continuous Development, Server side debugging, Setting up production environments, Data migration, Data mining, Data Analysis and more.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It's good: 20% off the job time given to study for qualification and remaining is given for your role / work. Team are usually happy to accommodate to your needs and deadlines.
Regular catch ups with HR, yearly pay increases, straightforward qualification training.
- No structured team rotations, which would help with skill and career growth.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Team & HR happy to support your needs to fit around your apprenticeship and qualification training.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Good network of support and clear communication with semi-flexible deadlines.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Qualification overall has good theoretical knowledge for Software Engineering, however the real knowledge comes from team specific training and work. Although, general CS theory is still helpful to understand and grasp bigger pictures faster within your team.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Regular junior network socials, networking events to meet seniors, team sports, opportunity and time given to volunteer and help out in the bigger community, funded extra training courses, massive charity races and more...
