Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work in private business, where my day-to-day work is performing substantive testing on different balances, communicating thoroughly with clients for analytical purposes and to build a relationship, helping with planning the audit, and aiding on completion to finalise.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoy the programme. It helps me be the best I can be, helping not only my knowledge in audit but key skills I can take everywhere in life, for example problem solving, communication and organising skills.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes - there is so many opportunities to build skills and continuous improvement is strived for at CP.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is well organised, with you having a view of your next few years from day 1. With the courses themselves, these are split through topic with plenty of aid.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Being a school leaver, I did not have much (if any) experience in audit. Kaplan is our training provider which is made up of amazing tutors and courses which aim to help anyone succeed - even if you have no prior knowledge.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification directly links with the work you do on a day-to-day, making it much easier to not only thoroughly understand, but also perform your work at the highest quality.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
CP prides itself on social aspects. There are numerous clubs and social events monthly, and even weekly, that help everyone enjoy something they love.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Cooper Parry to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The company is the rebels of accounting - and they mean it! It's not just another black and white boring office job, there are so many social aspects and such a positive and fun working environment.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cooper Parry?
Go for it! You don't need any qualifications to become an apprentice, or even any prior experience (like me)! As long as you have a passion for what you do and strive to become a better version of yourself, then CP would be an amazing fit.
