Overall, how would you describe your experience at Forvis Mazars?
My team started out very small when I joined and it has was a great experience being brought into a variety of complex work from an early stage. It was difficult to balance Study with work but otherwise a pleasant place to start my career.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I enjoy completing audit testing and work which involves reconciling large amounts of data. Often this is quite an involved task and requires you to have strong excel skills, but it is deeply satisfying when the numbers end up matching what you expected them to.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

Given work pay for your exams, I believe that they do not pay you as high as some other grad jobs would when you first start. Often there are no TOIL schemes and you do end up working quite late as a junior when you first join and looking back on things it could have been renumerated better

At times, studying for exams will take over your weekends and your evenings - it is intense especially at the begining.

Why?
Unlike the Big 4 Audit firms, I do believe that members are valued as individuals rather than 'resource' in most teams and the opportunity to work on challenging work is presented to you from day 1.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

The recruitment process is thorough and the role definitely met expectation - it was especially valuable being able to talk to so many members of the team prior to joining at the interview stage and via catch up calls.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Forvis Mazars?
Listen to a few of the firms podcasts, ensure you understand the STAR28 firm initiative, understand the service line you are applying to and the basic elements of the work you will be conducting if you were given the role you are applying for. Most roles also have a study element, express how prepared you are to tackle that aspect of your job and be prepared to explain whether you have faced juggling multiple tasks at the same time and ever changing priorities.
