Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I worked as a Scrum Master, supporting one or more agile delivery teams to operate effectively and continuously improve. On a day‑to‑day basis, I facilitated Scrum ceremonies including daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives, ensuring the team had a clear understanding of priorities and objectives.
I worked closely with Product Owners, developers and key stakeholders to remove impediments, manage dependencies and promote agile ways of working. A key part of my role was coaching the team on Scrum principles, encouraging collaboration, and helping to maintain focus on delivering value. I also supported transparency through the use of agile metrics and helped create a safe environment for optimised ways of working
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have really enjoyed the programme, particularly the on‑the‑job learning, which has been excellent and provided genuine opportunities for practical experience and exposure. Working in a Scrum Master role allowed me to apply learning in real delivery scenarios, build confidence, and develop key skills such as facilitation, stakeholder engagement and agile delivery.
The course materials were good and provided everything I needed to meet the learning requirements and understand the core concepts. However, I feel the content could have been more strongly aligned to agile delivery, as some areas were more focused on waterfall approaches. A greater emphasis on agile ways of working would have strengthened the learning experience and better reflected the role I was performing.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Agile Delivery & Scrum Facilitation
Stakeholder Communication & Engagement
Team Coaching
Problem Solving & Impediment Removal
Continuous Improvement & Retrospectives
Planning, Prioritisation & Time Management

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The course was well structured and logically progressed through the stages you would typically expect, from the beginning of a project through to completion. As previously mentioned, the main area for improvement would be a stronger focus on Agile delivery and the way the organisation works in practice, which would have better aligned the learning to my day‑to‑day role.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
All the support I needed was readily available throughout the apprenticeship. I worked with several different line managers during this time, and each was an excellent mentor who consistently made time to provide guidance and support whenever it was needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
There was support from my tutors.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
100%
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Professional networking events, upskilling sessions, opportunities to complete additional courses, mentorship programmes, job shadowing - lots!!
