Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
As an SEO apprentice, my role focuses on the back end of our SEO campaigns. It involves implementing a range of SEO tasks, such as internal linking, on-page optimisation, and performance reporting. These tasks help ensure that our clients are maximising their organic search performance.
Being very hands-on from the start has allowed me to take on more ownership of client work and gradually move towards the strategic side of SEO. This means I’m not only implementing tasks but also applying the knowledge I’ve gained to make more informed decisions.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I really enjoy my role as an SEO apprentice, as I’m able to make a real difference for clients and see their accounts progress, which is extremely satisfying. Working within an integrated agency also gives me insight into how different departments operate and collaborate to deliver the best possible campaigns.
Everyone in the agency is highly passionate and skilled at what they do, which is a great motivator and encourages me to continue developing my own skills to maximise my career progression.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
Since joining AUK, I have developed both my technical and soft skills. My SEO knowledge has progressed significantly, from having a basic understanding of simple SEO processes as a Level 3 apprentice to now being able to carry out technical audits independently, which is something I never thought I’d be able to do.
Alongside developing technical skills, I have also improved my presentation and communication skills. Before joining the agency, I was quite nervous and lacked confidence when presenting. However, AgencyUK supported me with training and encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone, which has helped me become much more confident in this area and now I can confidently present in front of clients, which is a massive step in my career progression.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
My programme is very well structured, with almost weekly meetings with my training provider. These cover a range of areas, from assignment-focused sessions to support with writing and progress. The sessions follow a consistent structure each semester, which helps keep everything organised.
I’m also assigned a coach from the training provider, who supports me in setting goals and staying on track with deadlines. These meetings also provide an opportunity to raise any issues, whether work-related or personal well-being.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I receive a lot of support from AUK, including a dedicated day each week to focus on my apprenticeship work. As I’m completing a Level 6 qualification and the workload can be high, I’m also able to request additional time if needed, which helps me maintain a good work-life balance.
I also receive great support from my manager, with regular check-ins to monitor my progress, ask questions, and receive constructive feedback. More broadly, everyone in the agency is approachable and willing to help, so I feel comfortable reaching out to anyone for support when needed.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
I receive a lot of support from the training provider, with regular sessions each semester. The quality of teaching is excellent, and being taught by real marketers makes the sessions engaging and practical.
It’s also very easy to get in touch with them, whether by email or through their dedicated forum for assignment-related queries. Although the Level 6 programme involves more independent learning, the support remains strong, and my coaches have often gone the extra mile to help answer questions and provide guidance.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
Doing my apprenticeship has helped me perform more effectively in my role at AgencyUK. For example, after learning about digital identity and its impact, I was able to apply this knowledge to my work and saw positive results.
The qualification has also increased my confidence in my overall marketing knowledge and given me a better understanding of other departments, such as paid media and brand strategy.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
