Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
As part of the Client Services team at AUK, I manage key client relationships and oversee the smooth delivery of projects by:
- Developing and delivering clear briefs to internal teams
- Overseeing invoicing, budgeting, and managing costs for client accounts
- Coordinating with external PR partners to align activity with wider campaigns
- Running internal review meetings and ensuring all output meets client expectations and follows the approval processes
- Leading weekly status meetings and maintaining strong client relationships
- Setting realistic timelines and managing expectations to balance client needs with internal workflow

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I enjoy taking part in the programme, as learning on the job is my preferred way of developing new skills. Completing apprenticeship tasks that relate directly to my role allows me to build knowledge while ensuring I cover all required areas during work hours and gain valuable real-life experience.
I find it rewarding to learn new concepts and then apply them in practice within my role. For example, learning about market research through the apprenticeship and then supporting this activity at work has helped me understand how theory is put into practice.
When I first started the apprenticeship, I would often learn new topics during study time and then apply them in the workplace. As time has progressed, I have found that some apprenticeship tasks cover areas I have already experienced at work. I find this especially rewarding, as it shows the experience I am gaining in my role is directly supporting my apprenticeship progress and demonstrates how my knowledge and skills continue to develop.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
Throughout my apprenticeship, I have learned and developed many skills, one of which is managing both colleague and client expectations. An example of this is ensuring the team reviews all scopes of work before they are shared with clients, so everyone is confident that timings are realistic and all required areas have been considered. Creating clear scopes of work also helps clients understand exactly what will be delivered by AUK.
I have also developed my ability to provide clear and realistic timelines for both clients and internal teams, while keeping clients updated throughout each stage of a project. This has helped me understand how all of our internal processes connect and how following them consistently throughout a project supports smooth delivery and helps build client trust.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
Throughout my apprenticeship, I have been provided with clear timelines, regular check-ins, and a strong understanding of what I need to achieve and work towards. Having regular check-ins has helped me track my progress, while using Smart Assessor allows me to feel organised and in control of my apprenticeship journey. The one-to-one sessions with my training provider have also been valuable, as they allow me to ask questions and focus fully on my development and progression.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
At AgencyUK, they ensure I have enough time to complete my apprenticeship work and consistently offer support, while regularly checking in to make sure I am happy with how everything is progressing. Outside of my apprenticeship, I am also set objectives to support my development within my role. These objectives focus on four key areas, including client relationships, AgencyUK culture and values, and apprenticeship-related goals. This allows my manager to track my progress at work, support my ongoing development, and regularly review how my apprenticeship is progressing alongside my day-to-day responsibilities.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
My training provider schedules check-in sessions with me at least once a month to review the work I have completed and discuss my overall progress. These sessions are an opportunity to reflect on what I have achieved since the previous meeting and identify any areas where I may need additional support.
They also give me the chance to ask any questions I may have, whether these relate to coursework, deadlines, or the next stages of my apprenticeship. Having these regular conversations helps me stay organised and motivated, and also provides reassurance that I am on track with completing my apprenticeship.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
The apprenticeship supports my progression at work, as it allows me to develop additional knowledge and skills. It provides me with broader learning opportunities and helps me build a deeper understanding of different areas relevant to my role and future career development. I am also able to see real life examples in the workplace of the topics I am learning through my apprenticeship. This helps me understand how my coursework is applied in practice and gives me a clearer perspective on how different processes and skills are used within the business.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
At AgencyUK, we have constant opportunities given to us, a few examples which I have taken part in since working are listed below:
- Three Ways School interviews, we went to a special needs school local to Bath and did mock interviews for them to work in the cafe, and also host them annually for tailored work experience.
- We have done a Murder Mystery night, which was working in teams to work out which actor had murdered, this was great for team building.
- Bowling with the agency split into teams at Lane 7
- Organising work experience for 16-18 year olds and helping run the sessions
- AgencyUK training day, where everyone chooses an area which they would like to learn more on/ improve on.
- Pancake racing and the Easter Egg hunt, which takes place annually and is very competitive!
- Networking events and opportunities with Bristol Creative Industry

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AgencyUK?

My advice to anyone applying for an apprenticeship at AgencyUK would be to make sure you have a strong CV that highlights any previous work experience, volunteering, hobbies, and relevant achievements.
