Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
My role involves a range of agency and client support tasks, including note taking, updating contact reports and status documents, as well as managing agency finances and supporting research for new business and strategy work. I also regularly shadow both client and internal meetings, which has given me valuable exposure to how clients operate.
A key hands on experience was managing my first small project, coordinating creative teams on pro bono work. This involved close collaboration with internal teams during briefing calls and check-ins, as well as contributing to client meetings. It was a great opportunity to take ownership early on and apply my learning and meeting exposure directly to live account support.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I’ve really enjoyed my experience so far, it’s been so inspiring to shadow all delivery teams to grasp a deeper understanding of what they do day to day. The most engaging part of being an apprentice is shadowing meetings ranging from brand identity, creative direction, SEO audits and paid media findings. Working with a range of people with mixed interests and skillsets has been invaluable for motivating me to develop within my career.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
I’ve definitely developed my communication and time management skills. Having to be on the ball at all times to ensure deadlines are met, this has also informed my organisational skills, making sure I’m consistently contributing to agency best practice. My confidence has improved gradually through joining calls and asking questions with delivery teams to further my own knowledge.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
The program is highly organised with weekly check-ins and performance progress meetings to track if objectives are being met to inform the next set of objectives. Another key aspect is making sure my work aligns to my apprenticeship tasks and progress.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I’ve received a lot of support from my employer. It’s been a lovely place to work, being surrounded by people who are genuinely so open and willing to help and contribute to my learning. Everyone’s reassured me that there are no silly questions and having a close support system from my managers and team has been so helpful for guiding me and always being approachable for any queries.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
My training provider has been especially great in ensuring I feel supported at all times. Constantly checking in through emails and calls and the actual quality of teaching has been really impressive. I can tell they really care about helping us progress and get our qualification. With monthly check-ins, this is a great chance to get the support I need, to chat through any issues or concerns and understand how to get the most out of my apprenticeship. It’s very easy to get help as they’re very hands on with checking in on students.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
I think doing this apprenticeship is helping me perform better in my role by doing deep dives into marketing and understanding the language which helps me follow meetings. The training sessions cover a range of topics, going through SEO, Paid Media, Strategy and Creative which informs my brief writing and discussions with delivery teams. I’ve definitely developed my marketing knowledge and understanding since onboarding onto the apprenticeship. It’s also encouraged me to collaborate more with other team members by shadowing their work and even contributing.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
There’s been many opportunities to get involved in extra-curricular activities such as volunteering days, international women's day events and even a murder mystery night. These moments are really key for team building and contributing to a positive company culture. We also have the opportunity to attend talks and social events, giving us the chance to network, along with client events.

Would you recommend AgencyUK to a friend?

Yes

Why?

I’d recommend AgencyUK to everyone. It has the most supportive and inclusive environment, every person is so inspiring and genuinely wants to help you develop in your role through their approachable nature. They really care about employee wellbeing and the importance of training to contribute to your career development. A standout experience that’s shaped my view is being recognised for your work, I love how effort is acknowledged and celebrated. Another key observation is strong team dynamics, where effective collaboration drives successful project outcomes. The onboarding process was another factor that contributed to a really positive first impression of the agency. The team are so interested in getting to know you and understanding your interests, making sure you’re always involved and understanding tasks.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AgencyUK?

I’d recommend making the most of every opportunity from the start as there’s so much exposure across different teams. Getting involved early on really helps you learn quickly and understand how the agency works. I’d also say, to not be afraid to ask questions as everyone’s so approachable and it’s one of the best ways to build your confidence and develop your understanding. Also, staying organised and being open to feedback is another tip, it shows genuine interest.
