Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As a project Manager apprentice my role is to support planning, delivery and governance of projects. I work closely with Project Managers, PMO colleagues, and a range of stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with clear oversight.
On a day to day basis, I maintain project plans, track actions and milestones and update key information such as RAID logs and status reports. A key part of my role involves stakeholder engagement and communication, this involves collaborative work between delivery teams and stakeholders to gather any updates and ensure information is communicated clearly in meetings and PowerPoints.
Overall, my role combines hands-on project support with structured learning, allowing me to contribute to live projects while developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to progress into a full project management role.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoyed my programme and, as I reach the end of my apprenticeship, I can confidently reflect on the significant development I have achieved. The skills gained will support my continued progression in my current role and are also transferable to future opportunities should I look to go in a different direction in my career.

The structure within my programme is good there are lots of avenues to go down to ask for support/advice.

I receive a reasonable amount of support from my employer however I find it hard to find the support sometimes.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

BPP Provided lots of support when it came to me working towards my qualifications, I was always able to reach out to my coach and ask questions within webinars, which most times was answered to a very high level.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The learning and qualifications gained through BPP have been fundamental to developing the knowledge I apply in my day-to-day role.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is an array of different extra-curricular activities to get involved in at the FCA, some involve a football team, Gym and plenty of networking opportunities to understand how regulation and the finance sector work.
