Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
We were given a packed schedule of talks from Monday until Friday from around 9am to 4/5 pm. The talk were from amazing people within all the different business areas. Each one give us a great insight into their area of work and what it entails.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was very interesting. The people from each role really showed us how for a wide range of roles your course didn't matter as much as I thought and a lot of the learning is done once you start working at Citi.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I learned that my computer science degree can take me down a lot more paths than I had been thinking about. I also learned some very basic trading information like how the buy/sell side help each other and also how news can affect stock prices.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company seems very welcoming. They really seem to embrace diversity and inclusion through both policy and people. A few of the talks really highlighted the wide range of clubs and societies that help push these goals.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed the insight week. I feel like I learned a lot about the world of finance and Citi. It also helped me learn about some career paths I may want to take in the future and opened the door to allow me to possibly take these paths within Citi.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Citi
Go for it. The application process was so simple and the interview really wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. Getting into this opportunity will open your eyes to a whole world of possible career paths in the Finance world you may never have even thought about.
