Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work in the management accounts team within finance. My day to day role involves reconciling all company bank accounts, posting and maintaining accurate finance records for customer/supplier ledgers and running monthly reports for management of parts of our operational costs. I also help with adhoc requests such as audit requests, statutory accounts and process improvements.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my accounting skills, excel skills and learnt how to use various microsoft systems such as dynamics business central. I've also developed my people and communications skills since starting at ANS by speaking to new people regularly either in the office or via teams. Since starting at ANS I've also gained much greater knowledge of how businesses are run day to day and what goes on with the admin behind the scenes.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My apprenticeship has a clear path for me to becoming fully qualified, as well as the support from my team and the learning & development team to help me with any issues on my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Since starting at ANS I've received a lot of support from many people around the business regarding my apprenticeship. I'm currently on my 3rd apprenticeship here having previously completed a level 3 & 4 role and I'm now on a higher apprenticeship. My line managers and teams have always been a great support in helping me with any questions in my studies, managing my workload and being there for any of my needs. The learning & development team have also supported me lots throughout by helping me book exams, working with me and training providers to progress onto further apprenticeships and always reassuring me that they will support me when looking at further qualifications based on how I want to progress my career.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider gives me a lot of support throughout courses to ensure I'm at a good knowledge level to pass my exams, as well as supporting me throughout my apprenticeships to make sure I'm complying with any standards and I'm working toward building my skills in work that meet and exceed EPA guidelines
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification helps me a great deal. When looking at higher apprenticeships from ANS I had support that the qualification I would be doing was based on what I wanted to do based on my role and progression. As I wanted to work in the management accounts team, ANS supported me by letting me choose CIMA as my qualification, which helps regularly in my day to day work as well as learning new skills in work which relate to my studies, such as budgeting and reporting.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I used to play in the weekly 5 asides, which is still ongoing. There are other teams and fundraisers that invites are always being sent out for, as well as in office networking events with past apprentices/employees

Would you recommend ANS Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend ANS to a friend as ANS have always given me a great reassurance that they have my best interests in mind. This means a great deal for me as I started working here when I was 18 as my first office job, so to navigate a completely new role and environment whilst having the people at ANS always supporting me along the way and showing trust in me has helped me grow as a person greatly as well as the technical knowledge gained along the way.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to ANS Group?
Apply yourself as best as you can and you will do great. You can show interest in other areas that don't necessarily relate to your role and ANS would do what they could to support you eg shadowing/mentoring with another dept.
