Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day to day basis I work within the product planning team, helping to support my manager with data gathering and analysis. I also spend a lot of time improving systems with the skills I learn during my apprenticeship days.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme a lot, I feel that I have a lot of opportunities to learn and develop which keeps each day interesting.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt Excel, Power BI and some Python since starting, along with learning about data analysis and story telling.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The apprenticeship has a plan set out from the very beginning and there are monthly meetings with my manager to check that it is still in line with business needs. It is quite self led which can lead to difficulty in managing deadlines or learning if work is busy.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employers are very supportive and my manager is always ready to help me with any projects or growth needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have 2 meetings with a coach on my apprenticeship days and I know that I can contact my coach at any point during the week if I am struggling with something.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The training I'm receiving is directly impacting my role. Due to being able to use Excel, Power Query and Power BI, I'm able to automate and improve the systems I work with every day.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in extra-curricular activities if you choose to. There are employee network groups that have regular meetings and social events, along with plenty of events throughout the year for days like international women's day or international day for person's with disabilities. You also have 2 volunteer days per year and there are regular charity events.

Why?
The culture is the best I've ever worked in. The company is supportive in general and also with any disability support. There are always opportunities to improve and develop and as the company is so big there are plenty of chances to build a career. There are also great perks, like the company car scheme and health care cash plans.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Volkswagen Group UK?
The most important thing for teams who are taking an early careers member is that you match the team culture. Let your own personality shine through at an assessment centre and that will help ensure that if you do get a role, you're placed in the team that's right for you.
