Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
Through coaching, I help colleagues reflect on their goals, challenges, and behaviours, empowering them to find their own solutions. Alongside this, my wellbeing and inclusion work ensures that people feel psychologically safe, supported, and included regardless of their background or circumstances.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
There have been some challenges along the way, particularly with my provider and tutor, which at times impacted my experience. However, now that these issues have been resolved, I feel more positive and focused.
As I am now heading into my EPA, I feel that the programme has been worthwhile overall and has supported both my personal and professional development.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have also developed greater self-awareness and improved my communication skills, which has supported me in my wellbeing and inclusion role. Overall, the programme has helped me feel more confident in supporting others and handling a variety of workplace situations.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
However, the support from SUEZ has been very strong and has played a key role in enabling me to succeed. The guidance, flexibility, and encouragement I’ve received through work have helped me manage the demands of the apprenticeship and continue progressing.
Overall, while the provider experience has been difficult at times, the support from my organisation has made a positive difference.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
This has made a big difference in enabling me to stay on track and succeed, particularly when facing challenges within the programme.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
Since a change in tutor, the support has improved significantly and has been much more consistent and helpful. This has made a positive difference as I progress towards my qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
While there have been some challenges with the training provider, the learning itself has been valuable and relevant, especially in supporting my wellbeing and inclusion responsibilities.
As I move towards my EPA, I can see a clear improvement in my confidence and ability to apply these skills in practice.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
I have also done a lot of independent reading and am always looking for new coaching knowledge and development opportunities. This has supported my growth alongside the apprenticeship and helped me continuously improve my skills.
