Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5

- Manage training related invoices and purchase orders
- Liaise with external training providers and ensure service quality
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding training opportunities, schedules and policies
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the job I have and I get to communicate a variety of different people from all around the business. This has helped me discover various different job roles that I previously didn't know existed and has helped educate me more about Suez. As well as this, everyone within the company is so kind and caring leading me to look forward to coming into work everyday and see everyone.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Previously to this job, I was freshly out of secondary school and working as a Site Assistant at a school so I did not have much experience with admin. This job has taught me so much, from how to formally and professionally communicate with people within the company to various new IT systems such as the LMS. Through the reports and scheduling tasks that we complete I have also developed me use of Excel which is a key skill to have within this industry.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme I am part of is very well structured. It sets out all the key assignments/learning for each month with the help of a tutor that guides you every step of the way. Key points are set out within the PowerPoints that my tutor provides me with and goes through with me to ensure that I understand everything for that month. There is also a clear EPA set out and it is clearly explained at the start of the programme.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer is very caring and considerate about any needs that I have. We plan out my study days and she always checks in on me to ensure that I have enough time to study and that I am not overwhelmed at work. I was very new to the office/work environment towards the start and she ensured to check in with me everyday to see how I was doing and still does regular check ins.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have a monthly meeting with my tutor where she explains the assignment/topic for that month. She always ensures that I am comfortable with everything that I need to do and makes sure to ask me if I have any questions. As well as this, she also makes sure I am aware of the coming months and what they can entail since I am coming close to thinking about my EPA.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification teaches me all the different parts/methods of dealing with requests and jobs that my role entails. For example, it has educated me about all of the stakeholders that are connected to my role that I was not aware of previously as well as different methods of identifying them and methods of prioritising them.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are plenty of networks and activities that my company offers where you can get involved.

This company has so many opportunities, everyone would be able to find a sector/department that would suit them. Everyone within the company is so incredibly kind, the atmosphere and is such a caring and lovely that it makes it a pleasure to come into work everyday.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Suez Recycling and Recovery UK?
I would advise you to go into depth about any past experiences that you have had that might impact the role but also, what skills you have and how you can apply them to the specific job role. I have noticed that past experiences are always good to have however, Suez looks for how you can apply your existing skills to the role your applying for.
