Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
I am currently undertaking the role of a service advisor. This consists of checking customers in and finding out information of damages or services and reporting this to the workshop. We then create job sheets in order for the cars to be worked on. If any more damage or problems arise, we contact the customer to see what they want done to the car. Once the repair or service is done, we then invoice the customer and hand back their vehicle.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I'm really enjoying the programme. I love going up to Leeds with the cohort and studying whilst also being given a chance to put those studies into real life examples at work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
All my skills from communication to literacy to technology have been improved

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

4/5
I think the structure could be a bit more prominent as little things have been a bit unclear. For example, whether I am going up to university between November and next February, the third and fourth year content at work has been unclear too as I'm not sure what I will be doing during those years, and I haven't been told whether the current project I am doing is for Uni or for work to review. However, I am part of the first degree apprenticeship cohorts in the South West and so I understand that the structure may not be 100% from the start

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
My general manager is very supportive and understands and allocates a good amount of time for me to focus on my Uni work. The HR team are also great as they are always there if we have any troubles at work.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
The lecturers are very helpful with their support and they reply as much as possible, however I try not to rely on the help so much as I don't want to become dependant.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
We have studied about culture so far and it has helped me to analyse the culture within the dealership. I think as I learn more content I will be able to implement more into my work.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

1/5
Not that I know of.
