Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I was looking after the onboarding on Colleagues onto our payroll system and was a part of the team that was first point of contact for colleagues details and contracts. I also wrote contracts for new colleagues joining the company and colleagues moving internally to new roles. I looked after colleague data and monitored salary rates across job roles to ensure all were on the same standard. I completed all of these tasks whilst completing my apprenticeship.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It was really informative and I was often able to find similarities between my work at the time and the tasks within the apprenticeship.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

My time management and project management skills were greatly improved over the course of the apprenticeship and due to my role I was able to gain a lot more confidence in my IT skills because of the constant use of different systems.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The apprenticeship was really well structured and I had a lot of support from my company on the coursework but the apprenticeship company changed my tutor a few times which was a bit inconvenient.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I received a lot of support from my employer as several different team within the HR department assisted me with my coursework.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

The company arranges all sorts of social activities throughout the year and has monthly meetings for the whole of head office to catch up.

I would always advise other to look into the company, do your research as it has a really interesting history. Also their values perfectly explain what you can expect from working here.
