Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
It is a great role being able to see a vast majority of the business in a small period of time, learning and utilising new skills seeing new things and places, meeting new people. However, it does feel chaotic and disorganised at times, I have also felt a significant lack of support from management when times have been difficult
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
Great programme although chaotic at times, and does sometimes feel as an apprentice you are not important or are forgotten about

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed a significant number of skills in a wide array of areas

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Does sometimes feel very chaotic with not alot of organisation meaning we have to take it upon ourselves to find things without support there is also a lack of transparent communication
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
My personal line manager has been poor, I've had difficult times with a lack of support and my placement managers have been useful. The management of the scheme are poor, non existent or transparent and not supportive
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Again chaotic but there are opportunities available
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I have been able to apply and visualise my training in my day 2 day job
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Plenty of other opportunities both internal and external such as the Grad Apprentice and Intern Committee (GAIC)

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Transport for London to a friend?
No
Why?
I feel there isn't alot of money in the company and we are on a spiral of decline, I feel support is sporadic and management differs depending on the individual. The big issue is lack of consistency at role off which is why I would like to go external upon completion
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Transport for London?
Having a wealth of experience and a passion for the sector/company shines brighter than anything, that is how I got the job
