Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a typical day, I start by checking emails and picking up any urgent queries from the business. I review the latest financial data to spot anything unusual or that needs attention.
A big part of my day is updating reports and management accounts, making sure revenues and costs are accurately recorded. I spend time analysing variances, understanding why performance has changed, and turning that into clear explanations.
I regularly speak with operational teams to walk them through the numbers, answer questions, and provide insight into performance. Depending on the time of the month, I’m also involved in forecasts, budgets, or planning cycles, which means working to tight deadlines and pulling together inputs from different areas.

I am very happy with my current Level 7 CIMA apprenticeship with BPP. The programme provides a strong balance between practical, on-the-job experience and structured learning, allowing me to apply theoretical knowledge directly to my role.

Entering a corporate environment has allowed me to develop a range of key professional skills. I have built strong communication skills by working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, learning how to present financial information clearly and confidently.
I have also developed my time management and organisational skills by balancing the demands of my role alongside my Level 7 CIMA apprenticeship, ensuring that I consistently meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.

The programme with BPP is very well organised and structured, which has made it easier to manage alongside my full-time role. The learning is clearly planned out, with a logical progression through each module that helps build my knowledge step by step.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive strong support from my employer in completing my apprenticeship programme. They provide me with the time and flexibility needed to balance my work responsibilities alongside my studies, which has been essential in managing both effectively.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I also receive strong support from BPP throughout my apprenticeship programme. The tutors are knowledgeable and approachable, and they provide clear guidance on both the course content and assessment requirements.
