Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
At Consilium, I was a Traffic management designer. I had to use CAD to create Traffic Management plans. Traffic management plans are designs that show a working site, usually on a highway. These plans complied with relevant documentation such as Traffic Signs Manual Chapter 8 and the Safety at Street works & Roadworks Act 2013. I would also communicate with our clients to ensure the best service was provided and carry out other general tasks set out by our line manager. We attended numerous placements and training courses relevant to our role to ensure we had a good understanding of what we were designing, and further develop our knowledge within the Traffic Management industry.
We also carried out monthly presentations to our line managers and occasionally to the team. This was to showcase what we were learning or what we have learnt, also demonstrating our continuous professional development. This also helps us improve our confidence and allowed us to prepare for the End Point Assessment, which is carried out at the end of my apprenticeship.
