Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a key person who is based in the baby room. I have built bonds with not just my key children but also their families! I have had some Makaton training and implement this throughout the nursery daily. I am in charge of our setting’s social media too.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have really enjoyed learning alongside working. Learning on the job has enabled me to improve my practice and I have loved the opportunities that have been provided to me such as the Makaton training and the first aid training I received.

I had monthly sessions with my tutor over teams but I was able to confidently complete my work independently
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have received a lot of support from my employer. They have been very accommodating for my calls and arranging visits for my observations. I have also had a lot of support reaching my EPA and have been able to practice with my manager.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have been supported with completing my apprenticeship. I have received adequate information from the training provider regarding my assessments
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Would you recommend Crafty Wizards to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Staff are supportive! All sites have a homely feel as all staff are able to work together and know all families accurately! We have lots of gatherings which mean that when staff are needed to cover at other sites, we all know everyone!
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Crafty Wizards?
I would say not to feel nervous as all staff are very supportive and friendly! I would also recommend feeling confident in your practice and having an awareness of why you’re carrying out a task.
