Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day-to-day basis, my role involves attending meetings across projects, working closely with stakeholders to understand project requirements and confirm agreed processes. I complete a range of data science tasks, including exploratory data analysis to clean data, perform feature engineering, Machine learning and create visualisations, which I then present to the team. Alongside this, I undertake training across different areas of data science and innovation, with a particular focus on Python and generative AI.

I have developed a broad technical skill set, particularly in professional networking and technical presentation, which are essential within a cross‑functional data science team. I communicate analytical concepts, methodologies, and results to stakeholders. In addition, I have strengthened my proficiency in multiple programming languages and machine learning techniques, applying appropriate models and approaches to real‑world datasets while following best practices for implementation and validation.

There is an abundance of support within the company, with colleagues who are genuinely willing to help. The team has a fun, encouraging culture that makes it a great environment to work in. The progression pathway is excellent, offering continuous opportunities to develop within your role while learning new skills. There are also many opportunities to grow beyond your core role through various employee-led networks, the apprenticeship council, ambassador roles, and chances to explore new roles within the bank.

Read the job description thoroughly and make detailed notes on the requirements. Research the technical skills listed and complete relevant courses to strengthen your knowledge.
