Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Leading engineers and technicians to support the delivery of internal combustion engines for Cummins' European Technical Operations (ETO). I also lead a Technical Apprenticeship Scheme following the Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician (EMT) standard.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship has been hugely beneficial in supporting my development as a leader. I have been able to broaden my knowledge and apply it directly to the workplace. I have also been able to build my network through interactions with apprentices from other businesses.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have received broad development in areas relating to leadership including, communication, accounting, finance and strategic management.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Programme is broken down into manageable blocks with assignments that are relevant and can be applied to the workplace.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer is bought into my development and identifies opportunities to support my development that align with the SLA.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Input from the provider is excellent, I am able to reach out to lecturers and university staff when I need support. This includes pastoral support as well as support with learning.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel I have become a much better leader through the course. I have become more strategic in my approach, I understand financial decisions and I have improved my communication.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I am heavily involved with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. Through the institution I have supported my development and built a network.
