Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am involved in the financially recording and procurement of the construction project. I value works completed and pay accordingly. I manage and report the finances each month of a the construction project. I am also involved in the procurement of new subcontractors for future works on the job/next phases of.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the freedom and level of responsibility I am given, I am able to make big decisions and do what I think is best for the success of the project financially.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have had the opportunity to be out of my comfort zone on many occasions, this has helped me develop my critical thinking skills and tune my ability to tackle new issues and work under pressure.

we have quarterly meetings with my employer and apprenticeship mentor to run through my progress and this is my opportunity to ask any questions but outside of this not much.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

As I progress at uni and start going into more depth in my modules I am finding it increasingly helpful and relevant to my day to day work
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Why?
I already have done, the management trainee programme is and amazing opportunity to get your foot in the door and start a career in something and somewhere that will help you grow, having a great support network around you at work and having the theory being taught at university at the same time. This programme is setting me up for success and I am having fun whilst doing it.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The Hill Group?
Being a new trainee - just focus on bringing enthusiasm to what you do. Dive head first into any new challenges you face and you will come out the other end thankful that you did.
