Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role includes procurement, the management of subcontractors, including ensuring they get paid, and works on site has been assessed to the correct level.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The programme is brilliant, and ensures that I have the correct level of independence, while providing mentors I can reach out to for when I need help. I have personal development plans set up with my line manager, in order to set deliverables / targets for me while I am still an apprentice, and ensuring my workload feels manageable yet still challenging.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
My new skills have been predominantly involving NEC knowledge, as its the first time I have moved away from the more traditional JCT design and build route. Additionally, I have learnt construction technology relating to the civil engineering discipline.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme structure is well organised, as there is a progressive pay model which apprentices are given depending on their level of experience and education, determined by year progression of the apprenticeship course.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Great support, as previously mentioned, with PDP's in place for employees.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend John Sisk and Son Ltd to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Working at John Sisk and Sons, I feel challenged, but in a way in which I am still looked after as a newer member of the team, even on a large scale demanding project. I feel workers are very fairly compensated, and would reccommend others to seek employment through the firm.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to John Sisk and Son Ltd?
To use their past experience and understanding in order to present themselves as a problem solver, and a member of the team which can understand works from different perspectives.
