Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
My role as a junior auditor means I spend most of my time on client work. This ranges from working on clients from the office and also going out to clients premises.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I really enjoy working at Forvis Mazars. It is a great mixture of being at a large firm but also getting treated well and rewarded for hard work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
I have learnt a lot of soft skills such as how to use excel and also skills relating to communicating professionally alongside my accounting qualification.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
The programme at Mazars is structured excellently with a clear pathway from day 1. You also have the benefit of having a whole team dedicated to early careers which can help you progress through your apprenticeship qualifications.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
There is an abundance of support available from people like your buddy when you arrive and your line manager. It is also a firm where everyone feels approachable so if you are ever in need of support all you need to do is ask.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
Our training provider (BPP) have a proven structure which helps you pass your exams and they are always available to help you whenever you need it.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
The qualification and the role go hand in hand. Your qualification gives you the knowledge required to complete your role and then in your day to day job you put it into practice.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
I work in the Leeds office and I have found that there is loads of extra-curricular activities to get involved in. For example we play 5 a side football most Monday nights. If football is something you are not interested in the sports and social committee aim to organise an event in each month so the likelihood is there will be something for you.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Forvis Mazars to a friend?

Yes

Why?

Its a great firm for balancing exposure to all different types of clients and feeling like you work at a global organisation whilst maintaining a friendly and support driven ethos.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Forvis Mazars?

I would recommend researching the role you are applying for and maybe speaking to someone who works in the industry if possible. If your application is successful and you reach the interview stage my biggest piece of advice would be to try be yourself as at the interview stage the firm know you have the qualifications and they just want to find out how your personality would fit in with the rest of the team.
