Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
My role is Business Administrator in the Business Services Team for the Housing Repairs Service. On a day-to-day basis this involves completing timesheets for the operatives. I also raise purchase orders and process invoices for a contractor. I use written communication skills to send emails, Microsoft teams messages, book meetings. I answer phone calls, collect and distribute post, and I manage the team inbox.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I enjoy the apprenticeship and I have become more experienced. I have learned many new skills like communication, finance skills, attention to detail, timekeeping and organisation.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

4/5
The new skills that I have learned are purchase ordering, data entry and managing a contract. I have also learned new IT skills like how to use printery. I have also learned about how to keep an office building secure. The skills I have developed are my communication skills, team working. I have also learned how to make access cards for new colleagues. I learned research skills and project management.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
The programme is organised and structured. Each day I know which tasks I should do for my job and which tasks I should do for my learning part of the apprenticeship.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer whenever I am trained on how to complete a task. He gives advice on how to do things correctly. I can freely ask them questions when I'm unsure about something, and they help me. At times, I also have had one-to-one meetings with my team leader where I can talk about workload, achievement, behaviours. I have had team meeting periodically for the team leader to discuss the things that should be done.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
I receive a lot of support from my training provider when working toward my qualifications. I can freely ask them questions and they will answer them. Whichever work I have done from my training provider I will send to them for their feedback and they will tell me things that I can do to refine the work I produce. I have had teams meetings with them when I have a training session. I have had review meetings every 10 weeks of my apprenticeship with my training provider and my team leader which helps when working toward my qualifications. They will assess me to see how I would rate the different skills that I have.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
The qualification that I have helps me perform better in my role as it has helped me to treat people that I meet in the office equally, use written communication properly, it has taught me how to work professionally. It has also taught me more things about my job like who the stakeholders are. I have learned how to work shadow other teams in the office.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

4/5
I have not been made aware of any extra-curricular activities to get involved in at work.
