The BA (Business Administration) Level 3 Apprenticeship delivered through City of Lincoln Council in partnership with First College has been a valuable and rewarding experience. The apprenticeship provides a strong balance between practical workplace learning and structured academic study, allowing apprentices to develop essential business administration skills while gaining real world experience.
At City of Lincoln Council, I have been able to apply what I learn directly to my role. The workplace environment is supportive, professional, and well organised, with managers and colleagues encouraging development and progression. I have gained confidence in key administrative responsibilities such as communication, organisation, customer service, record keeping, and the use of digital systems. The council also offers insight into how public sector services operate, which has helped me better understand professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.
First College complements this practical experience by providing clear teaching, helpful resources, and regular guidance. Tutors are approachable and supportive, ensuring that coursework, assignments, and assessments are well explained and manageable alongside work commitments. The course content is relevant and tailored to real workplace scenarios, making learning meaningful and applicable rather than purely theoretical.
Overall, the BA Level 3 Apprenticeship with City of Lincoln Council and First College is a strong pathway for anyone looking to gain qualifications, experience, and confidence at the same time. It offers excellent support, practical skill development, and a solid foundation for future career progression in business administration or the public sector.
