Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Safety assessment for criticality hazards in site. Producing technical reports, and calculations/modelling reports in support of work.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoyed the job. The hardest part was the University side, which required more self study than anticipated. But also requires further work to refine the course and make it more specific to engineers (less business management)

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Learnt and developed a variety of skills, especially IT skills. But also a lot of independence

Has the core principles in place. But could do with a lot better structure, specific to End Point Assessment and University modules

Plenty of support given. Often told to focus on University work as priority, as they are invested in my development

Plenty of chartership options with events. Also have our own internal Degree Apprentice Council which provides plenty of extra-curricular applicable to the job

Yes
Why?
Probably the best option to make. Yes it’s incredibly challenging, but it makes you all the more competent and skilled.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Sellafield Ltd?
Never struggle alone. There are plenty of people to get support from, and it’s the best way to manage workloads and develop as a person
