Learning & Development Admin Apprentice Review

I support the smooth running of our Learning & Development operations by managing communications, handling documentation, updating records, and assisting colleagues with day-to-day administrative tasks.
This apprenticeship has helped me build confidence and develop key professional skills such as organisation, prioritisation, and effective communication—both internally and externally while dealing with members of staff/stakeholders etc. Nottingham CityCare Partnership CIC is an award-winning community health service provider and a registered social enterprise, committed to improving long-term health and wellbeing across Nottingham. While we deliver NHS services, we operate independently, allowing us to be flexible, innovative, and responsive to the needs of our local communities and we also offer a wide range of services. As well as this, CityCare reinvest profits into the business and the community, supporting initiatives that prevent ill health and promote wellbeing.

Throughout my apprenticeship, my classes were structured well with each session taking place within a specific set amount of weeks and the content was flowing between each sessions.
The overall organisation was okay, it seemed a lot was left to ourselves to figure out and solve ourselves which could have been a bit better.

My employer throughout my apprenticeship have been great, especially my direct manager. She allowed me to take my study day throughout the week, as well as allowing me the time to revise and keep on top of all of my designated work.
I felt very supported through my apprenticeship and I couldn't fault my employer at all. They have made this apprenticeship a lot easier for me.

Once my face to face sessions had finished in June/July 2025, I had hardly any contact with my tutor and no check in's at all. I felt as though we were left completely and this happened quite suddenly, we were under the impression that they would be in contact with ourselves however this wasn't the case and it felt quite isolating being left to do everything ourselves.

Coming into this apprenticeship was something completely new for me, that I had never done before. I had no office experience previously, but this apprenticeship has allowed me to develop new skills to adapt into my team well and work efficiently within my job role.
This has been very beneficial to myself and I look forward to continuing to develop my skills within my job role at CityCare.

There are many benefits to CityCare in general, there is also great flexibility when it comes to working.
I was nervous to start a new job here at CityCare, as it was something I was never used too before. However, I have been made to feel so welcome here. I have met so many new people and created great working relationships.
My team have made me feel so welcome and happy and I feel as though I have fitted in well with them. Taking on new responsibilities and adapting to this change, has helped me so much and I can't wait to continue working in my role here at CityCare.
